Best of Show

Rock House Brewing Brewer’s Choice Best of Show
The Bluegrass Cup’s host and primary sponsor, Rock House Brewing, is excited to announce a Brewer’s Choice award at this year’s Cup. Header brewer, Jon Brown, will be judging the best of show round at this year’s Bluegrass Cup. Jon will select his favorite beer to be scaled up and brewed in Rock House’s brew house and sold at the brewery.

Pivot Brewing Company Cider Champion
Lexington’s own cider maker, Pivot Brewing Company, is proud to sponsor the cider category at this year’s Bluegrass Cup. The winning cider maker will be invited to join the brewers at Pivot this fall for a day of fruit pressing and cider making. In addition to a day at the brewery, the winning cider maker will also be able to produce a small batch cider with the fresh pressings to be sold at the brewery.

Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company Wood Aged Winner
Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company is pleased to sponsor the Wood Aged category at this year’s Bluegrass Cup. The winning brewer for the Wood Aged category will be invited to join brewer’s at Lexington Brewing ‘s 10 barrel Bowling Green facility to brew their winning beer. The winning beer will be aged in bourbon barrels and released as part of the Rickhouse Series of beers.

*In the event he winning beer is not a bourbon barreled beer or cannot be brewed using the house yeast strain, Lexington Brewing will work with the winning brewer to adjust the recipe or construct a new recipe to be brewed.

Awards

The awards ceremony will take place once judging is completed. Approx 2PM (maybe later, maybe earlier :)

Places will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category/table.

The 1st place entry in each category will advance to the Best of Show (BOS) round with a single, overall Best of Show beer selected.

Additional prizes may be awarded to those winners present at the awards ceremony at the discretion of the competition organizers.

Both score sheets and awards will be available for pick up that night after the ceremony concludes. Awards and score sheets not picked up will be mailed back to participants. Results will be posted to the competition web site after the ceremony concludes.
